Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Bah humbug!

We took Eggy to see Santa. She was great, even waiting in the hour long line, until...
It took her about half a minute to realize that she didn't like Santa.
I guess someone's on the naughty list.
Santa's helper elf lady was telling us that with young kids, the best pictures are usually the first ones before they freak out. They also let you use your own camera. So we got a couple okay ones but not super great. It's confusing to have a bunch of people yelling your name while some strange fat man is holding you. Once Eggy started crying, they immediately stopped but I told Eggy appah, "Keep going!!"
EA: "But she's crying."
Me: "It's okay! Keep going!!!"
haha, mommy is so mean. She cried for like 3 seconds until I got her and there were no real tears so please do not call Child Protective Services on me.

Later, I took her on the carousel. They give you a ticket for a free ride if you take a picture with Santa. I wasn't sure how she'd handle it but she was pretty good. No crying this time.

Happy 8 Months!

This post is late because I had to go through a bunch of videos.

It's getting harder to take these monthly pictures because she gets distracted and keeps trying to grab the "months" sign. I might have to come up with something else.

Can you believe Eggy is 8 months already? This past month has probably been my favorite so far. She's so much fun and she's doing all kinds of things.

Okay, so she's not crawling yet but she's getting close. She rocks back and forth on her hands and knees. Sometimes, she ends up scooting backwards. After a while, she gets mad that she's not going anywhere. haha It's hard to get that potbelly off the ground, huh Eggy?

But she can...
give you five
do jamjam (open and close her hand)
do doridori (shake her head)
clap her hands kinda
drink from a straw if I hold it for her
And when you say "good girl!" she gets all proud. Of course, she only does these things when she feels like it.

She'll also dance when she hears music. I think she likes the Black Eyed Peas.

Eggy will make these funny faces where she wrinkles her nose and her eyes get all chinky. And when you laugh, she does it again and again and laughs with you. Her laugh is funny too because it's like she lets out her laugh one at a time. Yeah, she's stingy with her laughs.

She likes paper. Or more specifically, Eggy likes to rip paper. Sometimes, she tries to rip the paper over her head which is funny to see because her arms are too short and/or her head is too big so her cheeks get all squished.
Forget toys for Christmas, I'll just give her the wrapping paper.

In addition to her two bottom teeth, she has another one coming in at the top. I think it's her left lateral incisor which is weird because I think the central incisors are supposed to come in first.

Eggy went from three naps to two naps a day. It went pretty smoothly. She still wakes up a couple times at night though. Her best nights are sleeping 7-8 hours straight before she wakes up to feed. Too bad those 8 hours are from 8pm-3/4am. Oh well, I'll take it. It beats those newborn nights when she'd wake up every 2-3 hours for sure.
We added peas and yogurt to her diet. Not her favorites but she'll eat it. Most of it.

Even with all this fun, she can still be a little punk ass. If I take something away from her, she gets mad and yells/cries. She's going to be a bully on the playground, I just know it.

Or she'll be playing fine with someone, like my mom, but as soon as she sees me, she starts whining for me.
I don't know whether to be flattered or annoyed. One day, I'll be the one whining for her to hang out with me so I should just shut up and enjoy it while it lasts.

Gobble gobble

Happy Thanksgiving! What is Eggy thankful for?

My butterball weighs more than the turkey this year. No wonder my back hurts.
This year, I'm thankful for Eggy of course. And even though she doesn't read my blog, I'm especially grateful for my mom. I don't know what we would have done without all her help.

Eggy Cullen

Just in time for the opening of New Moon tomorrow, Eggy has officially joined Team Edward.
I was talking to my friend JaMo on the phone while Eggy was climbing on me. She was slobbering on my shoulder when all of sudden, the little vampire bit me!
I yelled out but she wasn't even scared. She just gave me a look like, "Yeah, I bit you so what? You should be paying attention to me anyway." What a punk.

Don't call me fat!

I guess Eggy is still trying to lose weight. I tell her chubby is in but she won't believe me. I think she just wants to look good in her new skinny jeans. Do you know she's already wearing size 12 months clothes? What a beast!

So, Eggy is doing portion control. Instead of eating her food, she's decided to wear it. And the stuff that I do manage to get in her mouth? Pbbbbbbtt!

And she's found a new way to burn some calories since she can't crawl yet... dancing!

Happy 7 Months!

Look what Eggy can do now!
haha, just kidding. She can't even crawl yet. But she's a real good sitter. And when she's tired of sitting, her highness will reach out for you to pick her up. It would be cute if she wasn't so heavy. My arms should be super buff like Madonna's but they aren't. hmph

And guess what else? Eggy's got teeth! Two of them! At first, we couldn't see them that well but we could definitely feel them. You can see them now though.
Looking back, her first teething experience wasn't too bad. We didn't even know her teeth had come through until a couple weeks ago. She's had a few fussy days here and there. And no fever. They say the first teeth and the molars are the worst so hopefully, the rest of her teeth will come in easy.
It makes me a little sad because she's going to look less like a baby with her teeth. I'm going to miss her gummy smile.
And my nipples are scared too. I really hope she doesn't turn into a biter.

While her teeth were cutting through, she wasn't super interested in food but she's eating a lot better now. Or maybe it's because she's no longer constipated. Anyway, she's had sweet potatoes, avocado, squash, apples, pears, and prunes so far. She seems to like the sweet potatoes and avocado the best. I'm going to try peaches tomorrow.

I lovelovelove to hear her laugh.

Hearing her laugh always make me laugh. And sometimes, all it takes is a look to crack me up.
