Happy 6 Months!

Weight: 16 lbs., 2.7 oz (~50th percentile)
Height: 27.5 inches (~95th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 inches (~75th percentile)

Another 3 shots and an oral vaccine. Yeah, she wasn't too happy but her pediatrician says she's doing well. yay!

At the risk of jinxing it, Eggy's been sleeping a lot better. She even slept a solid 8 hours for a couple nights. I never thought that I could be happy waking up at 4:30am. But she's also had a few rough nights too, especially this past week. I'm really hoping it's temporary (maybe a growth spurt?) and she'll go back to sleeping well again.

Since we've started solids, Eggy's not pooping as much. This is both good and bad. Good, because we don't have to change her diaper as much. (In the early days she would poop all the time. Sometimes, she'd poop again right after we changed her.) Bad, because when she does finally poop, watch out! How can something so nasty come from something so cute? One time, I was washing her butt and I couldn't stop gagging while my mom kept laughing at me. Yeah, we have to wash her butt after a big dookie because wipes just wouldn't be enough.
Also, she's a lot more gassy and that stinks too!! She's a loud farter, like her daddy. Sometimes, I have to ask him if he farted but it's Eggy!

Her hair is starting to settle down now. It doesn't look like a flame so much anymore. And it's getting pretty long. It'll probably start getting into her eyes. I don't want to cut it though. I love her crajee hair with her highlights. Maybe I'll just tie it up instead.
Eggy's also been having some separation anxiety. It's kind of nice to know that she knows who we are and she trusts us but it can be tiring too. Sometimes, she won't even go to her dad. One time, Eggy woke up crying and Eggy appah went to pick her up. But she wouldn't stop crying until I held her. I think it hurt his feelings. hahaha. He says it's only because I have boobies. Whatever, you still got rejected. Moded!!
I can't believe my little baby is already half a year old. That means I have to start thinking about her dol (1st birthday)!

LA County Fair

Eggy appah and I have gone to the LA County fair every year since we started dating. But this year, someone else joined us.

Now, the whole reason to go to the fair is for the food. Unfortunately, Eggy is not quite ready to sample all the delicacies that the fair has to offer. But she tried...
Mmmm, roasted corn...

I could slather her with butter and eat her up. nom nom nom

I can't wait to take her again next year!

Cheeeese!

Happy 2 year anniversary to us! Last year, we went to Kauai but we stayed home this year. Instead, we're going to go to Maui in January with my family. On Sunday, we had dinner at BOA in Santa Monica with Horchata and his gf.
To my hubs, thanks for marrying me and being my baby daddy! Lub you muchos!

Poor eggy, what kind of grandparents do you have?

First, halmunee does this

then halabuji scares you with his goat noises

Am I mean for thinking that was funny? Yes, even the second video. hahahaha

Yum yum, give me some!

So Eggy got her first taste of solids this week. We started with rice cereal. She seemed to really be into it the first day but not so much the next day. Maybe she wasn't as hungry or maybe the novelty wore off. Or maybe she just wasn't into the taste. Rice cereal doesn't look all that appetizing. We'll see how she does with the other stuff. What's next? Avocado? Sweet potato? Banana? I heard banana poop is not good so maybe I'll wait on that one.
Anyway, I'm a little sad about starting Eggy on food now. I was hoping to make it to 6 months on breast milk alone but I thought she might be needing a little something extra because she's been waking up so frequently at night. At first, I kinda felt like I failed her but Eggy appah reminded me how chubby she's gotten. Have you seen my girl's thighs?! She's even got a little pot belly now.
It makes me proud. Like, I did that, my milk. I was at the mall the other day with my mom and Eggy. These two Korean ajummas were walking by and they were like, "ah yeppuh da (how cute)." When they asked me how old she was, I told them 5 1/2 months. And they said, "Wow, she's so big for not even 6 months! Are you breastfeeding? Wow, you must get a lot of milk! Do you get a lot of milk?" So I guess I done good for her, right?
And I'm hoping to make most of her food myself instead of buying the jarred stuff. I'm sure it's totally unnecessary but I want to get one of these bad boys.
It just seems like making her food would be so much more fun with it. I am such a sucker for these baby products. Now I just have to talk Eggy appah into it. ;) "But we could feed her all organic foods! Do you want her to grow jji-jji's when she's 7?!?"

Sitting

Now maybe my arms can get a break from holding her so much. She still falls over a lot. It's hard work keeping that big head up.
Eggy appah left for Vegas this morning. Pssh, I don't think eggy misses him at all.

Blood!

Eggy got her first boo boo this morning. When I went to get her from her crib, I saw blood on the blanket. BLUHD! It must have just happened because it was still bright red. She scratched her ear with her talons, er, nails. Seriously, I have to cut her nails like twice a week because they grow so fast. And I have to do it while she's asleep so she's not flailing around. (Actually, now that I think about it, Eggy's first boo boo happened when I was cutting her nails. I accidentally cut her thumb. There was a little bit of blood then too but not as much as this time.)
Anyway, she's fine. I don't even think she knew she did it because she didn't cry or whimper or anything. Just took ten years off her umma's life but whatever. It's fun having a heart attack at 7 in the morning. Thanks for the good time, Eggy.
