Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Happy 4th!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day!
We went over to the hub's aunt's house where fireworks are legal.  Eggy had so much fun, running around, playing with her aunties (cousins?  I guess the technical term is first cousins once removed), and eating popsicles.
Eggy and O are almost 4 months apart.  Cute, no?  Don't let the above picture fool you.  They look like they're BFFs but Eggy must still be upset about the smackdown last year.  Even though O was quite affectionate and gave Eggy lots of hugs, Eggy wasn't ready to forgive.  And when O tried to give Eggy a kiss, Eggy leaned away.
I guess Eggy had a good reason to be wary though because this picture?
This is right before O punked Eggy and forced her out of the car.  Not only that, she also stole Eggy's corn on the cob that Eggy appah was feeding her.

Anyway, Eggy loved the fireworks.  It was the first year where she was actually aware of all the excitement.  And she wasn't scared of the loud noises either.  Maybe because she was used to seeing the fireworks at Disneyland?
It wasn't enough that Eggy was clapping.  She made sure everyone around her would clap too:  me, her dad, GooGoo.  Bossy.
We didn't end up staying till the end.  Once the tree caught fire, it was time to go!  (It was a very very small fire.  But then I found out the neighbor's house really caught on fire.  Yikes!)  Plus, Eggy was getting tired and she even said she wanted to go home.
And when she woke up this morning, the first thing she talked about were the fireworks and the "sprinklers" (sparklers).

This Little Piggy went to the farm

On Father's Day, we met up with our friends, the Miyagis, at Tanaka Farms for the strawberry tour.

Daddies
Mommies
I'm going to eat THIS many strawberries!
Like this!!  AAAAH!
D-San and his mighty straw

There was this little boy who was verrry interested in Eggy.  He kept wanting to give Eggy hugs.  Sweet, right?  Actually, he'd hug her, then throw her to the ground!  He did that like twice.  I wasn't around because I was shopping so she was just with her dad but I did see them on the ground and figured they fell together.  Eggy appah wasn't too pleased.  I think he called him a punk but not to his face.
Anyway, it was really fun and Eggy seemed to enjoy it too.  How could she not?  Little miss piggy got to eat the whole time.  The strawberry season is over but Eggy appah wants to go back again, maybe for the watermelon season?

Like Appah!

Eggy's favorite movie lately is Tangled.  Have you seen it?  Super cute.
Anyway, we were watching Tangled and I asked her, "Eggy, do you like Flynn Rider?"
Eggy: Yeah!  (That's her new thing now.  She never says "yes" anymore; it's always "yeah!")  FlynnRider!  (She also says his whole name like it's one word.)
Me:  Do you think he's handsome?
Eggy:  No.  Appah handsome.
Me:  How about Prince Eric (from The Little Mermaid)?  Is he handsome?
Eggy:  No.  Appah only.
Me:  *rolls eyes

The other day when we were at my mom's, my mom was watching City Hunter.  I said to Eggy, "Look, Eggy, look!  Umma likes him (pointing at Lee Min Ho)!  He's handsome!"
Eggy:  No!  Appah!
Me:  No!  Oppa (Okay, so I'd be like his noona but he's an oppa to Eggy) handsome!  Umma likes him.
Eggy:  Umma like oppa?
Me:  Yes!  Umma like oppa; he's handsome.
Eggy:  Oooooh!  Like appah!

Future American Idol

Don't mind the glazed look on Eggy's face.  Mesmerized by youtube, she was.

Belieber

She also loves "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars but I don't have that on video.
Speaking of counting, Eggy can count to five in Spanish, Korean, and Chinese.  And she can count past 10 in English, maybe to 13?

Such a joy

Eggy has been acting like such a butthead lately.  Two years old is no fun.  Tantrums and mood swings?  No thank you.  It's bad enough that even her dad (the one who thinks Eggy can do no wrong) called her a jerk.  Last week, Eggy almost threw a fit because I closed the closet door.  Why?  Because she wanted to close it herself.  Any little thing that doesn't go her way, it's like the end of the world.
I do try to let her have her way as much as I can.  It's not worth it to fight about every little thing.  Sometimes, I feel for her because it must be hard to be a toddler.  I know some of the things she does is her way of trying to gain control.  (You know what would be the ultimate sign of independence, Eggy?  If you could wipe your own butt.)  But then, there are those other times.  And that's what time outs are for.  Me and time outs?  BFFs.  I love time outs.  Eggy even knows where to go when I say, "Time out!"
Sometimes, she even puts herself in time out!  I looove eet!  When I feel like she's going to have a meltdown, I ask her if she needs a time out and she actually says yes.  So she'll go sit in her spot for a little bit and a few minutes later, she's actually calmer.  Not always but most of the time.
And her new thing is, "I mad.  Eggy mad."  I ask her why she's mad and she just shrugs.  Sigh.  Her teenage years are going to be so much fun.

Hey stranger!

Yikes, has it really been over a month since I blogged?  Bad mommy.  It's kind of hard to get back into blogging when I haven't done it in so long.  Plus, I haven't been taking very many pictures of Eggy and I don't like to post without pictures.  I think I haven't been taking as many pictures of Eggy lately because well, as far as milestones go, there aren't much left.  Even if I were to follow her around with a camera all day, there's not really anything new or exciting that she's doing.  But I really need to get back into it.
Anyway, I do have a good reason for the lack of blogging.  We finally moved into our house!  Um, okay, we moved last month but I've been busy!
So Eggy has adjusted really well to the move.  I think because she likes her new room.  She calls it her "blue room" because duh, we painted it blue.  She likes showing it off to people when they come over.  And we moved her out of the crib and into her own big girl bed.  She's doing okay in it.  She still wakes up during the night and cries but she did that when she was in the crib anyway.  But at least she pretty much stays put in the bed until morning.  Although, there may have been a few times that she fell off the bed.  No worries, it's just a mattress on the floor, for now.

Here's a recap of the past month in pictures.
