Reason #19

...why I'm glad I had a girl.
So I can buy stuff like this:
When I put it on her at the store, she kept it on and walked around with it. It's a little big though because she fell over backwards wearing it. Whoops! But she likes it.

Showing Hello Kitty some love
Aw, kind of makes me sad because it looks like she's ready to go to school.

Anyway, this is how I know she likes her new backpack:
I only told her one time and she repeated it!

I did it!

I love how she puts her hands behind her back towards the end like she's strutting.

Sunglasses

Summer's almost here so I got some new sunnies. Hubs thinks they're too big but psh, what does he know about fashion? Eggy, on the other hand, thinks they're fabu and can't get enough of them. She asked for her own pair.
How appropriate that one of her first words is glasses, no? I'm going to teach her to say "myopia" next.

Style

Eggy appah and I have different parenting styles. He's definitely the pushover when it comes to Eggy. I'm the hardass. Anyway, we also have different ideas when it comes to dressing Eggy.

Most of the time, Eggy's dressed in a nehbok or a onesie since she's usually just hanging out at home. I get that. It's comfy for her and easy for us. But I think she should wear something cuter when we take her out. I'm not saying she needs a whole ensemble but I don't want her to look like she just rolled out of bed.
See? Cute, right?
However, Eggy appah will just leave her in whatever she wakes up in. And this is how he'll take her out: to grandma's house, the park, the mall, out to eat, everywhere. If it's cold, he'll throw on a jacket and maybe some socks. So lazy!
An example of the hubby's styling:
He says my mom's the one who put the leg warmers on (which is true) but if she didn't, I'm sure he would have put them on anyway. No, wait, I take that back. He would have just put one of the leg warmers on her. Maybe I should just be glad that he's at least putting pants on her. Before, he used to take her out in only a onesie. sigh.

Babies galore!

I guess I'm at that age where everyone I know is having or had babies recently. It's so exciting! All this baby fever makes my ovaries tingle. But, no, not ready to go there yet, people. Anyway, I'm so happy that Eggy's going to have a bunch of new buddies. I just have to make sure she is a good noona/unnie and play nice.
Actually, Eggy just had a play date with D-san last Thursday. Okay, it wasn't really a "play" date, more like a chance for me and Mrs. Miyagi to hang out. Poor D-san was supposed to take a nap but I think Eggy was too distracting. She kept going over to look at him. She told him he was "eeppuh" and was gentle. Until she smacked him in the face and stuck her finger in his mouth. Sorry about that, D-san's parents.
But I can't blame her intrigue. I had to hold myself back from nibbling on his chubby cheeks. And he was quite the flirt, smiling and giggling. Although, he should probably work on his gas issues first if he plans to win over the ladies. Just saying, D-san.

It was good seeing them even though I felt like Mrs. Miyagi and I didn't really get a chance to hang out. We were too busy keeping our eyes on the babies. We couldn't even eat together, we had to take turns. How do moms with more than one kid (especially really young ones) do it?! On the next play date, we should leave the babies at home with the dads.

Happy 13 Months!

It's just too hard to take those monthly pictures now. Especially since Eggy is walking. And she's EVERYWHERE. If I turn around for two seconds, she's already in the other room. Kinda scary. It wasn't that long ago that she was walking around with her arms in the air for balance. She looked like a chimpanzee, haha. Sometimes, she'll walk with her hands behind her back and she looks like an old lady. So funny.
Eggy can also pull herself up to standing now so she hardly crawls anymore.
She must have really strong thighs.
She was like this for a long time so I went over to the other side and...
Also, when she farts, she'll pat her tummy. I like to think she's either saying, "Ah, that felt good." or "I farted!" Either way, she looks pretty proud of herself.

She can kind of feed herself.

Eggy knows how to do the "Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes" dance. Well, kinda. She can only do head and toes. We're still working on the shoulders and knees part. Other body parts that she knows: nose, ear, mouth, elbow, and belly button. But usually she points those out on other people instead of herself. Sometimes, she'll lift up my shirt to look for my belly button. Then, she'll grab my belly fat instead. Jerk.

She knows how to roll/throw a ball.

And she knows who she is.

Eggy can give massages. And she'll even throw in a hug.

In addition to monkey, alligator, and cat, Eggy can also imitate a dog and an elephant.
Okay, so maybe all her animal noises sound the same but I can tell the difference!

She loves to copy us.

Eggy's changed so much this month! I feel like she's doing something funny and new every day. Can't wait to see what next month brings.
