Sorry to disappoint

People, I am not pregnant!  That is not my exciting news.  I could see how you might think that but I swear that Eggy is not getting a sibling any time soon.  I am not ready for that kind of craziness.  But it is going to be a big change for our family.  Everything should be official by Tuesday.

Anyway, Eggy's learned a few more words this week!
  • aaiiya - ice
  • aya - hi (like hiya, maybe?)
  • ma - Max from Where the Wild Things Are
I love how she says everything with an exclamation point.  "Mmmo! (Elmo)"  "Aaiiya!"  "Ma!"  A lot of her words sound the same so it's kind of hard to figure out what she's saying sometimes.  But it's still fun and exciting to hear her talking.  Even when she's talking shit about me.  She thinks I don't understand her but I'm on to you, little girl.

Elmo Love

I love the $1 bin at Target. You can find all kinds of good shit there sometimes. Anyway, I found a Sesame Street book with Abby Cadabby. I don't think Eggy knows who Abby is because she hasn't really watched Sesame Street but she knows who Elmo is from Youtube. She loves Elmo. She thinks he's hilarious. She loves him so much she even learned how to say his name.

What the hell, Eggy? It took her like two days to say his name and took her more than a year to call me umma.
So since she loves the furry little red monster so much, I dvr'd an episode of Sesame Street for her.  THIS is what caught her attention.
I was so surprised because she immediately learned how to concentrate.  Even now, she "concentrates" to tell me she wants me to turn on the tv, specifically Elmo.  When she just wants to watch regular tv, she'll go sit in the chair and point to the tv.  "Slave, go turn the tv on for me!"  Luckily, she hasn't learned how to use the remote yet although she knows what it's for.  She's even kissed the remote a few times!  She's turning into such a couch potato.

So hot

Ugh, I hate this weather.  And I don't think Eggy likes being cooped up all day in the house either.  So I took her to the mall a couple times this week just to take advantage of some free a/c.
Stealing my Starbucks
Yesterday, she woke up from her afternoon nap in such a cranky mood.  I think she's teething again.  She has just one tooth that hasn't cut through yet: the molar on the top right side.  Anyway, my mom took her outside to play.  Here's Eggy helping halmunee water the grass:

This girl looooves the water.  I really want to take her to the water park at Legoland because I think she'd have so much fun but Eggy appah wants to wait until she's older.

I also have some exciting news but it'll have to wait for a bit.  Don't want to jinx things.  Stay tuned....

More Egg-xercise

Since Eggy likes to go swimming a lot, she realizes how important it is to look good in a bathing suit.
For all you people wondering how Eggy manages to look so sexy and slim, I'll share Eggy's new way of keeping fit.
Do that about 10 times and you too might weigh just 22 pounds!*

Happy 16 Months!

What can I say that I haven't already said so many times before?  Yes, Eggy is growing up so fast.  Yes, I love her to pieces.  Life is good.

She's such a little person now.  I don't know where she learned it but she's started to shake her head no and nod yes.  This is very interesting and also annoying.  Sometimes, I think she gets confused though.  I asked her if she wanted to go outside and she said no.  Then, I asked her if she wanted to go swimming and she said yes.
And she keeps pointing at things and says, "Da!"  Is she saying, "that!"?
She can still fit in some clothes that she was wearing six months ago so it seems like she's not growing much.  But the other day, she finally got her leg up on the couch and climbed up by herself.
Lately, her dad and I have been taking Eggy for walks in the evening.  (I'm loving how July has been not so hot.  Hopefully, August will be the same.)  She loves it.  She takes off down the street while we follow after her like her minions.  It's a lot harder to get her to come back home.

Anyway, yesterday, we were behind her as usual when she stopped and turned around to look at us.  She motioned with her arms for us to get together; she wanted me and Eggy appah to walk with our arms around each other!  Then, she'd walk ahead of us again but every once in a while, she'd turn around to make sure we were still walking that way.  And she'd have this satisfied smile on her face.  It was too funny.

I've got to start keeping a list of words that Eggy can say.
Ba ba - bye-bye
Umma -mom, halmuni, eemo (I guess I am not special)
Appah - dad
Mamma - food
Mama - grandmother (paternal)
Gah - glasses
Bah-pah - backpack
Pa-pa - pick me up
Dda dda - ddok ddok heh (smart in korean)
Caw caw - bird
Bah - bath, butt (but she also says this for a lot of other things, like if I say, "Eggy, say 'Toby'" she'll say, "bah!")
Da - that?
Na - uno/hana (one in spanish/korean)
If you say, "Talk to me, Eggy," then she'll respond with her jibber jabber.  It's cute.
